- Q School
- The PGA Tour's annual qualifying tournament
Example: Some exceptionally talented players just can't seem to make it through the Q School. - quacker
- (also "duck hook, snap hook, snapper") a shot that curves abruptly and severely right to left (right-handed player)
Example: Leonard tried to kill his drive on the first hole and was rewarded with an ugly quacker/duck hook/snap hook/snapper. - quadruple bogey
- (also "quad") a score of four strokes over par on a hole
Example: Except for a quadruple bogey/quad on number 6 he played fairly well yesterday. - quail high
- a very low trajectory shot
Example: A shot hit quail high is pretty effective into the wind. - quit
- ("quit on the shot") not following-through completely with momentum; decelerating through impact
Example: One reason for quitting on a shot is losing your balance.
